Decisions, decisions, decisions..... The video shoot is over. You've packed up the lights, mikes and cameras and now you're staring at massive hours of raw footage that you need to turn into something resembling a video presentation. It's Decision Time!

Visual Inspirations of Tampa, Fla. is pleased to announce Decision Maker, its' new batch digitizing software for Microsoft Windows systems. The "DV Edition" of Decision Maker will be available soon, with an RS-422 version and a dual-protocol version planned for the near future. All editions will provide users with quick, easy, and accurate control of the digitizing process.

Decision Maker is child's-play to use, but the results are pure pro! Users compile an Edit Decision List from source video in realtime, mark "In" and "Out" points, and add optional comments and thumbnails. The EDL can then be digitized immediately, saved for later use, or exported to several standard formats.

Toaster[2] users will be especially pleased to find their clips' original timecode, comments, and thumbnails recognized in Toaster Edit. When saved along with a Toaster Edit Project file (and any CG files used), the Decision Maker EDL is all that is needed to rebuild the complete project from source material! Why tie up expensive hard drive space for long periods of time? Too, if clients provide timecode data from a window dub, that can be used to generate a Decision Maker EDL. You'll wonder how you ever got by without batch digitizing!
