Edit
This button launches the panel shown below,
which permits precise modification of an existing entry in the
Clip List window. In addition to manually adjusting In and Out
points, a Tape Name can be assigned to a selected clip. This
is often essential, as it will serve to inform you of the need
to exchange tapes when actually digitizing, as well as providing
for occasions when two clips in one EDL might have identical
timcode!
The buttons in the upper right of this
panel allow you to selectively digitize either audio, video only,
or both - a real space saver. The Clip Name parameter allows
you to select a name and path for the digitized clip, and the
Comment field permits entry of any important notes pertaining
to the shot.
Delete
As you might expect, this control removes
the currently selected clip from the Clip List window. It merely
modifies the open version of the current EDL, and does not affect
either already saved versions, nor delete any A/V file already
digitized to the Hard Drive. Re-save the modified EDL to do the
former, and use normal Windows file functions to do the latter.
Manual
|
Clicking this button does not open the online
manual. Rather, it permits direct entry of a new clip's In and
Out parameters without requiring you to Mark the In and Out points. |
|
You can use either the Full Edit panel
to do so (allowing comments, clip name, path, and other options)
or the simplified (but quicker) direct entry panel shown
above.
The Thumbnail
The thumbnail image associated with any
entry in the Clip List is initially defined when you set the
In point of that entry.
You can change the frame used for the thumbnail
image by using the Grab button, as previously mentioned. The
thumbnail displayed in the DM interface is actually a smallscale
representation of the larger image stored when you do so.The
actual resolution and quality of the stored thumbnail image are
set in the Preferences panel.
If you left-click on the thumbnail display,
the full-size stored image will be displayed, making it much
easier to discern between similar scenes. Click again to close
that window.
