Up to Main

Decision Maker's controls may be sub-divided into two main groups. These are the Media Control and EDL Functions, considered in detail on the pages which follow.

Additionally, there are other noteworthy conveniences within DM's interface.

Status Lines and Window Controls

Two interface devices provide DM user's with added information - the Status line beneath the Clip List window provides constant feedback on the current operation.

Just beneath that, is a hidden display field, which only illuminates when you "hover" the button over the small control gadgets postioned around a window's border. These gadets offer the usual Close and Minimize functions, along with a useful Roll Up item.

Sort Functions

An EDL, such as that used by DM, is really a form of database. The Clip List window in DM provides a view of the entries in that database (EDL). It also provides another useful function borrowed from the database realm. At the top of the Clip Window you will see column headers, labelled as above. By clicking on a label, you can easily re-sort the clips based on the values in that column. Sort your clips by name, source Tape, In or Out point, or duration at will.
