alutations, one and all.

So, I guess ya noticed we're a bit late this issue. Why? Well, while everybody was away basking in NAB's munificent glow (when they could get there, that is), your Friendly Local Editor was deep in the bowels (and I do mean bowels) of MicroSoft's Visual J++. (Hey, I figger if they're gonna just give the thing away, I can stand to spend 9 hours downloading it. However, it would be nice if it actually called MSIE 3.02 to run applets as it is alleged to do.)

Time passed.

Eventually, I awoke from my Java-enhanced slumber and re-noticed the Earth, the NAB swallows returned to their respective Capistranos, and we all got feverishly to work on this month's batch o' stuff. We think this time it's a pretty darn good batch o' stuff, if we can be so crass to say so ourselves (and we do).

For one thing:

We Finally Have A REAL NAME

Welcome to

FLIGHTWAVE

Thanks to our recent Name The Magazine 'N Win Some Stuff Contest, you, the users have spoken the name by which we shall henceforth be known.

Many of you entered some really great names. We then had you vote for the best name. We took the name voted on almost 2 to 1 over the next entry name. However, picking the winner wasn't quite as easy as we figured. The reason being that 3 people supplied names which were so durn close as to be nearly identical. Identical enough so that the staff of Visual Inspirations has decided, in its Infinite Benevolence, to g'head and Award All Three People The Mega-Prize.

Yes, you heard right. Soon, Joe Tracy, Michael Schneider, and Paul Tracy will be rumpling and fetishing their own personal and individual copies of Corporate Video Backgrounds in the privacy of their own Edit Suite.

Gosh. Ain't we nice?

But Wait, There's More!

In addition to Our New Name, we also want to take a moment to hoot and crow over the announcement that 2 New Writers have joined the FlightWave Family:

Paul Lara (of VDO Productions), and
Mark McCrickard (Video Artist and President of Crimson Media Group).

Let's all give 'em a laurel,

and hearty welcome!

And now, before we click onwards to begin reading Issue #4, let us turn with stern reverence towards the windswept praries of Exotic South Dakota and have a moment of quiet noise for The Ultimate Fate Of The Amiga.............
