elcome back!

I bet you were thinking we were gone forever, didn't ya? Well just like the old Amiga, we seem to be a hard critter to kill. So much has happened since our last issue, it is hard to know where to start off. Ok lets start with Newtek. Look at all the announcements from them as of late. New prices on Toaster/Flyer systems and promises of an update. New versions of Lightwave, a cooler than cool new paint program called Aura, and our ol buddy Dwight ain't there to throw darts at anymore.

Amiga Inc. blew everyone away as well. For sooooo long, all we heard was that they were signing up people to license stuff too, We all kinda thought they need to do moooore. Then out of the blue, they tell us they have not just been sitting on their assets and show us the future direction that they plan to take the Amiga. As a developer, I can't say alot, but some news has leaked out (on purpose), to give you a taste of what will be. For those of us that know a little more, it is gonna be one hell of a ride. I for one, look forward to this.

There have been quite a few shows in the past year and it has been great to meet many of you face to face. As a third party developer, we here at Visual Inspirations are always on the look out for new ideas, and we thank all of you for your comments and suggestions.

About 3 months ago, Aussie asked me for a routine to use in his software, it was a simple little thing and we started discussing other options that could be added. Well 3 months later, and we now have a set of over 250 NEW commands to add to the Toaster Flyer Arexx routines. This is one reason you have not heard much from either of us in a loong time. After we got going with this, we found a whole new way to integrate our products into the Flyer interface. While it has been a bit of a wait, We feel that these new routines will vastly improve what we can offer to the end users. So keep an eye out for new add ons for Control Tower, and the Co-Pilot products along with some new goodies as well.

Another reason that the magazine took so long was that we had no articles coming in. Many of you had said, sure will send ya something, and then never got it, shame, shame. While we would love to do more writing ourselves, it takes away from our programming time, and I think we are better off spending our time on new utilities than writing small articles here. We still plan on putting together what we can, but we could really use some help. We wish to thank Alexander Shareef for coming on board and helping out in the Lightwave arena. We were sorely lacking in this department, and I think his tutorials will make a BIG difference in our magazine. Also we have added a link to another web site by Ron Whittaker. Ron is constantly updating his site and prefered us to just link to his site. I feel the information was sooo important that I agreed to just a link. We will highlight different section in the coming issues.

We don't plan on waiting as long for the next issue, but I don't think it will be a monthly thing, like we had planned, but will come out with as many as possible and we will let you know when the new issues are ready. We hope you enjoy this issue.

Magically Yours,

Jeff White
